Introducing Charlotte By Charlotte Hains

This is a really easy review for me to put into words. Lets start by saying I loved this book.

I was approached by Charlotte Hains to review her debut book, Introducing Charlotte. She reached out on twitter, and caught my attention by being polite and to the point. I took a look over on Amazon at the book, to see what I would be getting myself into. The title immediately intrigued me, and I jumped on this chance.

I received the book, and started to read it. Now this is where things get interesting. The first half of the book reads like a cross between a very British Sex and the City and Made in Chelsea. The style of the writing, the dialogue between the characters, how they develop, its all been put into words in a very surreal way, and greatly executed into a real page turner. It turns into a BDSM love story as the story progresses, but the themes are well represented, and are not "extreme". They fit very well, and make comfortable reading for all fans of this genre.

The author warned me that this "may not be erotic enough for your tastes". I raised a eyebrow at this when she said it, wondering what she meant. I still don’t know what she meant, as the sexiness and pure erotic energy oozes off the page when the story gets down to is essence,
around half way in.

Yes, this is not cover to cover literary porn. It takes a while for anything sexual to get moving. But the tension that is created raises things to boiling point. This is a story, for readers who like a bit more meat to their erotica. Even if you just read to get hot and horny, take a chance on this and take a afternoon or evening out to read it.

I assumed that is was semi autobiographical, and I asked Ms. Hains about this, and she says its not, instead she did a lot of research into the subject matter. As a autobiography, I would still praise how well written this is, and how good the story is. As it has been researched, and is a story told in quite a believable way, I must praise it even higher because the amount of work gone into this is evident.

To say that this book has had little exposure is a understatement, and a crying shame that this has not done better. Forget all the other cheaper books on amazon and other retailers, this is the real deal. It sets up for another book, and that’s where one the my little problems occurs.... I ran out of pages! I need more, and cannot wait for the next instalment to come around. (Ms. Hains, please don’t leave us on a cliff-hanger like in this again!)

Formatting is done well, and I cannot recall seeing even one spelling mistake. I read it in .epub format, on a android tablet using Moon+ reader.

Introducing Charlotte is a seventy thousand word book available in ebook format and paperback.

Get it at Amazon or Smashwords

Final Verdict:

Buy, buy, buy. We need more of Charlotte!

Payback: Sometimes karma takes so friggin' long, you have to step in and handle things yourself by Eve Rabi

Go to Amazon, find this book, download and read it. Just do it now. Forget the rest of this review. Just go and read it now.

Still here? Not convinced? OK.

First things first, don’t expect this book to be full of orgasms and pulsing hard cocks. Its not that type of book. This is a story, and a very good one at that. It has some explicit scenes in it, but the emphasis is the story.

Arena is in a abusive relationship with Tom, and escapes the madness and hell he puts her through. That’s all I feel happy saying about this, as this has so many twists and turns in it I dare not ruin it.

I read this all in one night. I could not put it down at all. The characters are believable, the situations are believable. And maybe this should have a domestic abuse trigger warning on it as well. The way the author has managed the characters, making you really hate some, and really love the others is a work of art in this book.

If the writing in this free book is anything to go by, the rest of Eve's books are also worth taking a good look at.

I honestly don’t think I can praise this enough.

Dare by Lucia Jordan

With a understated by impressive front cover, this book had a lot to live up to before even reading a word.

Lets start with the story. It is a regular girl meets powerful story, with a slight, but interesting, twist added in. I won't say to much about it, but it makes this book well worth diving into to find out.

The first half of the book details to the reader the backgrounds of the two main characters. There is a decent amount of character building in this first half, but it never makes for boring or slow reading.

There is a line half way through the book, that is a stroke of genius in my eyes. It clearly defines where the midpoint is, and that things are about to get even more interesting. Again, I am not going to say to much, see if you can spot it as well!

The second half of the book is where the action starts to ramp up, where all the tension of the first half has been building to. The sexual attraction drips from the words, and the reader gets what they wanted.

Well written sex is not easy to accomplish, and well written sex without the use of expletives is even harder. Yes, they are used here, but not as much as some readers will be used to. Each word seems carefully chosen, with a flow that carries you along, letting you share what both characters are feeling.

It ends abruptly, with a cliff hanger ending. This is the first of a series, and seemed more like a prequel of sorts. The rest of the books are already on my list!

If there is one small niggle, there a a few spelling mistakes in this otherwise quite polished presentation. Formatting worked well on kindle for my phone.

So, all in all a great, if short read. Recommended to be checked out by all, and the rest of the series promises to be a scorcher!

Horny Zombies Crave Taco's #2: Rug Munchers vs Dick Heads by Kacey Zen

I must say, that when I came across this series, I was not ready. I started on the second book, and was just intrigued by the title. I'm a sucker for zombie anything. I hit the download button on Amazon, not expecting much apart from a badly written story.

Boy, was I wrong.

Although quite short, it is part of a longer series. But it is very well written. It has multiple storylines that interweave and come to a satisfying conclusion in its short reading time. The characters are well defined, even though there is not a huge amount of development, what information you are given serves its purpose very well.

Set in the Zombie apocalypse, the story of a few survivors is told, with storylines that link into each other. There's satisfying violence, and the sex is described well, well within the boundaries of the style. The final scene is, well, repulsive, but at the same time will still stir something within you (well it did me anyway. I have no idea what that says about me.)

I will be reading the rest of this series without doubt, and if you feel like a change, or want to experience zombie erotica for the first time, check this out!
